Description
Disc air valves are used in applications that require a high air volume to be introduced. This type of valve operates so that it is entirely closed in the standard case when there is flow in the pipeline, and the line pressure is positive. When the pressure in the pipeline near the air valve reaches approximately minus half a meter of the water column, the valve opens and injects air into the line. As the pressure continues to fall and the negative pressure reaches approximately two meters of the water column, the valve fully opens, and the maximum amount of air possible enters the line. When increasing pressured air enters the system, the air valve disc closes in response to its force. To avoid abrupt closure and impact, these valves are equipped with an air brake system comprised of cylinders and pistons that smoothly close the valve and without effects.
